Seri-culture

 As we went to visit to seri culture farm on Friday. From school where we learn many things about silkworm. there are mainly five types of silkworm found in world. Mainly seri silkworm and eri silkworm are rear in Nepal. seri silkworm is feed on mulberry leaves whereas eri silkworm in feed on castor leaves. Silk is cloth with shinning durable and many good feature. Silk in very expensive cloth and its very hard to get pure silk.

At once silk can lay more then a lakh eggs. Male silk worm die after mating with female and female dies after laying eggs there eggs are about pin head side very small in size in above picture you can see the lakhs of egg in that paper

As guider told us that in absence of mulberry trees eggs are store in cold to prevent hatching in winter. there is mainly five stages of silkwrom

i.  egg    (it stage is about 2 weeks)

ii. larva  (it stage is about 4 weeks_)

iii. pupa  (it stage is about 2 weeks)

iv.  adult  (it stage is about 1 week)
